Apple TV’s horror comedy Widow’s Bay led the latest round of early Emmy Awards with eight wins, while DTF St. Louis collected six and HBO Max’s The Pitt added four.
The awards, announced Sunday, recognized work in cinematography, sound, music, production design and guest acting — the crafts and performances that often receive less attention than the headline categories at the main telecast.
Who won
Widow’s Bay, starring Matthew Rhys as a small-town mayor confronting a centuries-old curse, won in several technical categories. Betty Gilpin also won guest actress in a comedy for her role in the series.
David Harbour and Linda Cardellini earned their first Emmys for DTF St. Louis. Ernest Harden Jr. won a guest-acting award for The Pitt, and Rob Reiner received a posthumous acting Emmy for The Bear.
Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance also produced a major music-and-television storyline across the early awards, including his first Emmy.
