U2 celebrated 50 years as a band by returning to Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin, where its members first began playing together as teenagers in September 1976.
Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. performed a 35-minute set for students and teachers. The appearance recreated the community setting where a handwritten notice seeking musicians eventually produced one of rock music’s most successful groups.
