The world of Snowfall is expanding. FX’s The Drop: A Snowfall Saga premieres tonight, September 8, on Hulu, with the story moving deeper into 1990s Los Angeles and the rise of West Coast rap.
Disney’s official September streaming schedule says the series follows returning Snowfall characters Wanda Bell and Leon Simmons as they try to reinvent themselves while Los Angeles deals with the aftermath of the crack epidemic and a new cultural force begins taking shape through West Coast hip-hop.
From survival to a changing Los Angeles
The premise gives the franchise an opportunity to explore what happened after the period depicted in Snowfall, while connecting the social consequences of the crack era with the music and culture emerging from Los Angeles neighborhoods during the 1990s.
The premiere is scheduled for 6 p.m. Pacific on Hulu, according to Disney’s official schedule.
