JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A familiar Northeast Florida outing has a new destination this week. The Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair is scheduled to run November 5–15 at 13601 Normandy Boulevard on the Westside, replacing its longtime Downtown setting.
The move also introduces facilities intended for events beyond the annual fair. The Jacksonville Daily Record reported November 2 that a 77,500-square-foot building includes Duval Hall, a 40,000-square-foot indoor event space, alongside offices and an amphitheater stage.
The report describes flexible indoor space for uses such as trade shows, concerts and tournaments. Fairgrounds president and CEO Bill Olson said the amphitheater is intended to attract touring acts traveling between larger markets. That is a business objective; the new venue’s opening does not establish future bookings or economic results.
A new route for a familiar tradition
The organizer’s location and schedule page describes an 82-plus-acre site with an amphitheater, exhibition space, a barn and more than 5,000 parking spaces. It lists opening-day gates at 5 p.m. Thursday, November 5. Opening times vary on subsequent days.
The city’s event listing independently identifies the Normandy Boulevard address and November 5–15 dates. Residents using an old saved destination should update it before traveling.
For families, the change is more than a different entrance. Planning a ride, a pickup or an evening around work now means checking a Westside route rather than assuming the former Downtown location.
Admission and entertainment are different purchases
The organizer’s current ticket FAQ distinguishes general admission from ride products and separately ticketed amphitheater concerts. It lists advance adult admission at $10 through November 4, increasing to $15 afterward; listed child and senior rates are lower, and children five and younger enter free.
The FAQ lists a $25 advance Mega Pass combining gate admission and most unlimited mechanical rides for one day. It excludes certain attractions and does not include food, shopping or amphitheater concerts. Concert tickets are purchased separately and include fair admission, the organizer says.
Check the official terms for the particular day and attraction before buying. A family’s total depends on the tickets selected and additional spending, so the gate price alone is not a complete outing budget.
The dates and facilities described here are published plans ahead of opening. Current operating details, ticket availability and any changes should be checked on the fair’s official website.
