The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards produced historic wins Monday night, with Widow’s Bay collecting a comedy-series record 14 awards and The Pitt winning best drama series for the second consecutive year.
Jean Smart won her fifth straight Emmy for lead actress in a comedy for her performance in Hacks. The achievement makes her the first woman to win an acting Emmy for every season of one television series.
Other major winners
Noah Wyle won lead actor in a drama for The Pitt. Rhea Seehorn received lead actress in a drama for Pluribus, while DTF St. Louis won best limited series. Michael J. Fox received the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award.
The ceremony also highlighted the writers, designers, musicians and production crews whose work shapes television but often receives less public attention than acting categories.
