Duval County voters can begin casting early ballots Tuesday, October 20, with polling locations opening at 8 a.m. Eastern. For TalkLife’s Brooklyn audience, the early-voting period begins Saturday, October 24.

The dates lead to the same November 3 general election, but the local schedules differ. Knowing which timetable applies can prevent an unnecessary trip and help voters fit a visit around work, school or caregiving.

Duval’s official election notice lists 24 early-voting locations and a period running through Sunday, November 1. Hours change during that period:

Duval datesHours, Eastern
October 20–238 a.m.–6 p.m.
October 24–259 a.m.–5 p.m.
October 26–307 a.m.–7 p.m.
October 31–November 19 a.m.–5 p.m.

The county’s site list includes the EWU Schell-Sweet Community Center, Dallas Graham Branch Library and the Supervisor of Elections office, alongside libraries and community centers throughout the county. Readers can consult the full official list for addresses rather than assume their usual Election Day location has the same early-voting arrangements.

News4JAX’s morning update advises Duval voters to bring valid photo identification with a signature. Anyone uncertain about acceptable documents can confirm directly with the election office before leaving home.

Brooklyn voters have a different start date

New York City’s official website lists October 24 through November 1 for early voting and links to the city’s election resources for dates and hours. Brooklyn readers should use those local instructions when planning their visit.

A voting plan can be simple: confirm registration and the chosen voting location, check that day’s hours, review the sample ballot and leave enough travel time. The relevant authority is the local election office; a general social-media reminder may describe a different jurisdiction.

Duval voters with questions can reach the county election office at 904-255-8683. Today’s opening is an opportunity to vote ahead of Election Day, with several days and schedules available before the early-voting period closes.
